Focus on fundamentals. The school board's key duties in governing for student achievement, understanding legal authority, budgeting resources, bargaining with employee unions, developing policies and collaborating with state and federal lawmakers will be the focus of the WASB Spring Academy: Leadership in Public School Governance. The program will offer a solid foundation for new board members to start their service as well as contemporary information about these topics for experienced board members.
