Policy Perspectives

Your WASB membership entitles your district to receive the monthly policy newsletter Policy Perspectives. It is designed to keep administrators and board members informed of current policy issues surfacing throughout the state. It features policies adopted by Wisconsin districts on a wide variety of school issues and discusses how new laws and regulations, court decisions and attorney general opinions may affect school district policymaking.

The board president and district administrator receive Policy Perspectives free of charge. Other board members and/or school personnel may subscribe to Policy Perspectives for $25 per year, per subscription.

The FOCUS

The FOCUS is a comprehensive policy publication that is available to WASB member districts on a subscription basis. Each issue presents an in-depth analysis of one policy topic and includes legal and policy considerations, descriptions of policies and programs being implemented in Wisconsin school districts and sample policies. A one-year subscription costs a member district $185. Copies are sent to persons designated by subscribing districts.

Search to see if a topic you are interested in has been covered in a previous issue.

Any WASB member district may receive paper copies of issues of interest by contacting a Policy Services staff member. If your district is currently a FOCUS subscriber, you can access a back issue online.

If your district would like to become a FOCUS subscriber, contact a Policy Services staff member.
