Policymaking

Home > Governance > Policymaking

Policymaking is one of the school board's most important functions. Through policy, the board sets the goals for the district and provides direction for administrators and others to follow while working toward achieving those goals.

Policymaking is a continuous process whereby existing policies are reviewed regularly to see if they are effective and up to date and new policies are developed as they are needed.

Your WASB membership entitles your district to contact any WASB Policy Services Consultant for policy-related assistance. Your WASB membership also entitles your district to have a WASB Policy Services Consultant work directly with your district on policy development or updating via a policy reviewing or consulting project.
