The WASB Insurance Plan ("Plan") is excited to announce a new partnership with Liberty Mutual Group designed to cost-effectively meet the property and casualty insurance needs of WASB, Inc. members. In November, the Plan Trustees finalized a historical arrangement to position the Insurance Plan – which is entering its 30th year – as the frontrunner in the Wisconsin public school district and CESA property and casualty insurance market. Two Liberty Mutual Group entities, Indiana Insurance™ and Liberty Mutual Middle Market, provide the coverage endorsed by the Plan. The new program is called the WASB Insurance Plan underwritten by Liberty Mutual Group.
For years, insurance needs of many WASB members were well served by the Plan. However, participation has not been what it used to be, and so the Trustees investigated the most viable and cost-effective alternatives. “After considering the past – and future – of the WASB Insurance Plan, the Trustees determined that adding a second Liberty Mutual Group dimension offers the most opportunity for continuing to meet the property and casualty insurance needs of our members,” said John Ashley, Executive Director, WASB, Inc., and Secretary of the Plan.
Per Tim Sivertson, Chair, WASB Insurance Plan, “The collective underwriting experience of Liberty Mutual Group means Wisconsin school districts and CESAs now have access to the one entity housing the most experience with insuring public school districts in Wisconsin and nationwide.”
Also supporting the change is an expanded distribution force. Seven independent agencies will bring the Plan to your district’s door. These include:
Ansay & Associates
Arthur J. Gallagher
Johnson Insurance
Maritime Insurance Group
R&R Insurance
RJF Agencies, Inc.
- Robertson Ryan & Associates
The WASB Insurance Plan was created in 1980 to answer a serious problem facing Wisconsin school districts. Some school districts could not obtain certain types of insurance at any cost and others were finding only policies with poor coverage and high premiums.
Today, the school insurance market is at the opposite end of the cycle. Many insurance companies are enticing school insurance buyers with a broad array of products and tempting incentives. During this competitive market, the WASB Insurance Plan continues to provide school districts with policies tailor-made for Wisconsin's schools along with unmatched service and many other benefits.
