Learning Technologies is a department within the MPS Division of Technology charged with improving district-wide practices by modeling, teaching and coordinating effective use of technology to instruct, learn, perform, communicate and collaborate. Staff serves as a conduit and resource for integrating technology into the curriculum with the overall goal of technology being embedded into daily instruction, school culture, and used to promote and develop 21st century skills of all learners.

MPS Tour this year will take participants on-site to the Learning Technologies department for a 75-minute session that will overview the variety of learning technologies, instructional resources, and collaboration tools currently being implemented in Milwaukee Public Schools to support teaching and learning. The presentation will include use of an interactive whiteboard, specifically, SMARTBoard, to demonstrate Discovery Education Streaming, netTrekker d.i., eSIS grade book, and the use of Moodle as an online collaboration tool.  Finally we will share information on the strategies the MPS Learning Technologies group is using to reach and support the integration of technology in every school.
