In this clinic, presenters will use a hands-on approach to take the confusion out of school finance. Gain a conceptual understanding of the major components of the Wisconsin school finance system including revenue limits, equalization aid, property taxes and referendums. Learn how these components interrelate and how they impact board decision-making. Leave the clinic with increased confi dence with discussing school finance concepts and use this knowledge to help foster an environment of trust in your community.

Board members and school district administrators need leadership tools to navigate the whitewater environment of today’s changing educational environment. Through case studies we will examine effective board governance, the role of policy, legal aspects of managing difficult issues, and effective communication strategies.

Learn about best practices in crisis preparedness and
emergency management. Members of the Wisconsin
School Crisis Preparedness Team will share their knowledge
and experience in prevention, preparedness, response to, and recovery from emergency and crisis
situations. This interactive session will explore various
areas to prepare your school for natural and manmade
disaster situations. Resources will also be provided to
assist with time constraints and budget issues.
