Diversity: On TV, Behind the Scenes and In Our Lives
Soledad O'Brien
CNN Anchor and Special Investigations Correspondent
School leaders understand that we face a rapidly-changing society in which more and more emphasis is placed on the diversity in our world and our classrooms. As a special investigations correspondent for CNN, Soledad O'Brien has the inside information on some of the most prominent issues of the day and brings them to homes around the globe. Now, she will share her message as the Wednesday keynote presenter as she examines diversity from her experiences as an insightful international journalist, a multi-ethnic professional woman, a world citizen and education advocate.
Currently, Soledad O'Brien is anchor and special correspondent for CNN: Special Investigations Unit. She has reported in-depth on some of the most significant stories across the country and the world, ranging from the World Trade Center attack to the incarceration of Taliban prisioners at Guantanamo Bay, to the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. Called "a renaissance woman of the modern era," Soledad O'Brien is a working mother and successful journalist succeeding in a frenetic world. She will bring stories from around the world to our own State Education Convention.
Her latest project for CNN Investigations is the Black in America series.
