This year’s planning is well underway. While this year’s keynote speakers are not quite ready for unveiling, work is well underway to focus on three main general session themes: creativity, community, and courage. Watch wasb.org for announcements when the keynote speakers are finalized.
The deadline for proposals was June 12: an excellent response was received from school districts submitting proposals. The WASB received 76 music audition tapes and nearly 90 Idea Exchange and Meet the Experts proposals are currently being reviewed by the advisory committee. Twelve applications for School Fairs were also received.
Favorite events will remain a part of the convention: exhibit hall, student performances, a range of sessions, WASB, WASDA, and WASBO presentations and meals, and the networking reception are all being planned. Logistics are being improved: The shuttle between hotels and Midwest Airlines Center will continue, water coolers will be in the hallways, and the hotels reservations are already open for those who wish to make early plans.

Registration will open November 1. It’s never too soon to plan to attend.
