School leaders will get hands-on experience with tools that help meet the diverse learning needs of all students. Attendees can choose to learn about the curriculum or technical side of this important work. The curriculum sessions will illustrate how a digital learning environment can serve all students, enhance collaboration and creativity, and extend learning beyond the classroom. The IT sessions will give attendees an opportunity to see how Apple has simplified the process of managing and integrating Mac computers and mobile devices within your existing network. There will also be a hands-on tour of new Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Snow Leopard Server. Learn how the latest technology can help give students the skills to achieve in school and in the workforce.

In this clinic, presenters will use a hands-on approach to
take the confusion out of school finance. Gain a conceptual
understanding of the major components of the Wisconsin
school finance system including revenue limits,
equalization aid, property taxes and referendums.
Learn how these components interrelate and how they
impact board decision-making. Leave the clinic with
increased confi dence with discussing school finance concepts
and use this knowledge to help foster an environment
of trust in your community.

The new state budget includes many bargaining law changes. Learn the ins and outs of these new laws in this session led by the co-directors of the WASB Employment Labor Law Services. This session will also address budget development in the Interest Arbitration era: How will an arbitrator analyze your budget in an interest arbitration process? Is your level of fund balance defensible? Are your designated expenses historically accurate? Do you have comparative (to other districts) budget data available or do you know where to find it?
