Special Focus:
Connect with Higher Education
Program
(presented jointly by Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association and the
Wisconsin Association of School Boards)
At last year’s regional meetings, WASB members heard
about the importance of preparing our students for post-secondary
options, and especially about two Wisconsin campaigns— “Know How to Go” and the Wisconsin Covenant.
This year, we continue the emphasis on preparing our students
for post-secondary learning through an important collaborative
effort with the Wisconsin Technical College
District Boards Association.
Through this partnership we are bringing you a special
focus at this year’s convention.
On Wednesday and Thursday selected technical colleges will
highlight successful programs and K-12 partnerships during
Idea Exchange sessions. On Thursday, 3:45-5:15 pm, Room 203C, a Special
Event open to all will feature The Future of Wisconsin’s ‘Knowledge Economy’ and the Role of K-Gray Education.
In this session, Tom Still (pictured right), president of the Wisconsin
Technical Council, will deliver a message about Wisconsin’s
economy including education’s role in creating a strong
Wisconsin future.
Following this Special Event, continue the discussion
at the Networking Reception, 5:30 – 7 p.m. in the Crystal Ballroom,
Hilton Milwaukee City Center.
Finally, on Thursday evening come to a joint Connect with
Higher Education Dinner especially for school board members,
superintendents, technical college board members and presidents.
