State Leaders Propose New Standards State leaders from across the country proposed new standards on March 10 for what should be taught in the nation’s public schools. The standards, which were drafted by the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers, would replace standards that vary from state to state. The standards are available for review. You can also submit feedback on the standards at that Web site as well.
