Elizabeth Hayes has served on the Fond du Lac School District Board of Education since 1986, currently serving as president. Her service has consistently demonstrated her strong belief in public education and child advocacy. She has represented the district at the WASB Delegate Assembly for over 20 years and is a past member of the Resolutions Committee. Elizabeth has earned the WASB Level V award and recently moderated the Presidents discussion group at the 2014 WASB Education Convention.
Professionally, she is a Professor Emerita of Biology at the University of Wisconsin Colleges. She recently completed nine years of chairing the 13 University of Wisconsin Colleges Department of Biological Sciences and has previously been named the Wisconsin AAUW Post Secondary Teacher of the Year.
Her public service extends through various other church, civic, and community organizations in the Fond du Lac area.
Elizabeth and her husband Robert live in Fond du Lac and have three grown children and four grandchildren.
