Rick was first elected to the Owen-Withee school board in 2001. He has embraced the idea of getting involved by volunteering for most every committee locally and then taking on roles at the state and national level. He believes it is important to have high quality people continually improving locally controlled public schools.
Rick is an active member of the school board, serving on three committees and holding the position of vice president. In addition to regularly attending WASB training seminars and conferences, Rick has six years of experience on the CESA 10 Board of Control and in 2007 he was appointed to the DPI's Boundary Disputes Board. He has been involved in many community activities, including 4-H, coaching, and after-school programs.
