Convention Student Video Team
Showcase Students at the Joint State Convention
The Wisconsin Association of School Boards is seeking a team of two or more talented students to produce a video that highlights some of the exciting events, sessions and performances at the 100th State Education Convention in Milwaukee, Jan. 20-22, 2021.
Documenting the Convention
The convention is attended by school board members, superintendents, administrators, educators and other public education stakeholders from across Wisconsin. The WASB will give students and a teacher adviser full access to the convention.
The student team is responsible for providing their own equipment and should capture highlights from at least one full convention day.
(The convention ends on Friday, Jan. 22 at noon and the exhibit hall is not open that day so the video team should plan to attend on Wednesday, Jan. 20 and/or Thursday, Jan. 21 to capture the full convention experience.)
The final video should be approximately seven minutes in length. Shooting, producing and editing the video will the responsibility of the student team. Footage should include a variety of convention events, including: coverage of a general session, convention sessions, the exhibit hall and interviews with convention attendees and speakers.
The finished video will be due February 14, 2021. The video will be proudly displayed on the WASB website and used in convention promotions. We are excited to see what students produce!
The student video team must be made up of at least two Wisconsin public school students in grades 9-12.

As part of the application, please provide a link or mail in a DVD or jump drive with a sample video of your students’ work. Applications need to be received by Nov. 8, 2020.
The winning student team will be notified by the end of November.
